Once Again

Once Again

A Poem by CoffeeInfused

more vent stuff

Once again, I am alone

Nowhere to run, no happy home

No moss gathers upon a rolling stone,

But what about this empty pile of bones?

Would anyone, would you

Miss me if I were gone?

Heartbreak

My fatal mistake

Daring to hope and dream, to give and take

Here I am, the unfortunate rake

Not daring to sleep, nor stay awake

A pain this deep, I cannot fake

Every waking breath, you still haunt me

No escape in dreams, only you I see

Looking for reason, for hope, for brevity,

Clarity, why and what and how can it be?

My mind, a funeral pall, pale, dark, cold

As happy memories continue to grow old

Yet hope remains, still bright and bold

Though reduced to ashes, a flickering coal

Continues my torment, binding my soul
