I miss you

I miss you

A Poem by CoffeeInfused

I miss you

Like the sun misses the leaves

Green and gold, glittering upon the trees

Or the flower that blooms in fields of green

Lost in the soft death of winter’s icy sheen

Like the gentle wind that whips the waves

And gives travelers a soft caress or kiss in place

Tousling our wild hair from where it lay

Is wished for upon a balmy summer’s day

As the lonely moon wishes for the rising sun

As an incomplete work seeks to become done

Or a newly finished song seeks to be sung

Like a lonely heart desires to be fought for and won

And I need you

The way an unfinished puzzle needs the final missing piece

Or troubled water from the brook finds a quick release

Into the vast ocean, becoming complete

Or a tired, weary mind seeks the bliss of sleep

Like a soft song needs a measure in time

Or loving words need an easy rhyme

The way I did when I was yours,

And you were mine
