I Have Lost

This and everything after it is vent poetry from the breakup in April.

I have lost

What I thought I’d found

No hope, no light, no joy I see

Only pain, and loss, and misery

Perhaps one day, I’ll be at peace

Once in the ground, I’ll find release

 

I hurt, I ache

Every moment I’m awake

No love, no light,

No hope in sight

 

My pillar, my rock

It now is gone

And once again

I am alone

 

Alone I break

Alone I fall

Nowhere to turn

No hope at all

 

My tortured heart

It does conspire

To keep an ember

Alive in the fire

 

No matter the pain

No matter how vain

I am forlorn

Never have I felt this scorned

 

I am alone-

Perhaps it best

To never put another

Through any duress

 

My hopes, my dreams

All shattered and torn

And now I’m lost

No port, only storm

 

I still can’t shake

This feeling of hope

Like a noose in a rope

The worst devil of all

Is hope, is hope.
