When Love is Lost

When Love is Lost

A Poem by CoffeeInfused

When love is lost
And hope forlorn
No shelter from
The coming storm

Hopes and dreams
All dashed away
Left naked in
Cold light of day

Embrace yourself
Become reborn
And rise again
New in form

Stronger perhaps
For having worn
Strengthened, tempered
New mantle adorned

Let not grief
Nor sorrow trespass
Into your heart
For they shan't last

Cherish the memories
The glad, the serene
Shy far from
Melancholic sheen

Into new days
We all shall stride
Never to bow
Our head and hide

For like the sand
Sifting through glass
Each hour marked-
This too, shall pass,
This too, shall pass.
