Old Salty

Old Salty

A Story by Wisconsin
"

Haha

"

Last night I went out at 3:00 AM to salt the sidewalk.

It was cold out, and I wore two left handed gloves, one of which didn't fit my right hand very well.

Nobody else was out. The streets were all empty. Everyone else was indoors, sleeping, which I suppose was a sensible choice.

It's times like this I feel like a coelacanth. The missing link between man and fish, struggling to get by in a world of more evolved creatures.

I loved the shortness and the descriptions. The ending made me chuckle a little bit. Great write.

the midnight (or 3 am) missions are the best in hindsight.

who knows whose life that salt saved. Early morning jogger with a young wifey and 3 kids maybe.

?

;)

your description of the G. mountains and the towns around them is friggin gold. I dont know how you feel about it, but as one writer to another, with complete honesty and respect, dude, I just gotta tell you thats a great story in the waiting.

I'm flashing the hippie lower case h gang sign. See it? All slant, with tree hugger tude.
