"The Lost Empire XII: James Meets The Man In Black"A Story by Cody Williams“James Meets The Man In Black: A Lost Empire” By Cody Williams
1. “Hello James!” The man in black said with raspy voice as he sat on a large bolder and looked off of the edge of Devil’s Peak. James reached into his sheath and pulled out his sword. “The man in black I assume?” Walter asked. The man in black let out a deep laugh. “I go by many names. Most people know me as the man in black, but some of the people…let’s say…higher up, call me Edward Carter.” The man in black said. “So, Edward, you are the man keeping me from returning back to my home kingdom?” James asked. Edward shook his head and turned to face James. “No. I’m not the one. Honestly, I don’t care if you go home!” Edward explained. “Then why are you trying to stop me?” “Because, I know that once you reach Lowland, you won’t leave. You’ll either die or you will become crowned as the new king of Lowland. I can’t let that happen.” Edward continued. “Why is that? Why do you even care?” Walter asked the man in black. Edward turned to face Edward. “You should mind your own damn business boy! This doesn’t concern you! This is between myself and Mr. Thomas here.” The man in black said as he pointed at James. “Do you know what those men did with my little sister Wilma?” Lenora asked as she stepped closer to the man in black. Edward laughed again. “I do know what those men had done to your little sister little missy! But I wouldn’t worry about that if I were you. Chances are that it is already too late!” The man in black told her. “You son of a b***h! Tell me what you know about my sister!” Lenora shouted. “I’d watch that mouth of yours if I were you. Anyway, it’s probably too late for your sister. Bloody Mary must have gotten her by now.” Edward told her. “Bloody Mary?” “Yeah. Those men whom took her, the Lowlanders, they live in Lowland and serve a queen named Bloody Mary. She wants to be the queen of every universe out there. She wants to rule Dillon, she wants to rule Middle Universe, and she wants to rule that pathetic excuse for a world that you call home Mr. Bing.” Edward continued. “Then why are you working against us? It seems to me that you don’t want Bloody Mary to take over everything either!” Walter said. “Well, that’s true I suppose. Bloody Mary and I have a pretty dark history with one another. But I will not team up with you. If you and I unite and join forces, I know that you’ll get to Lowland and that we will defeat Bloody Mary and you will take over the thrown. I can’t have that. I won’t have that. That thrown is mine!” Edward said. “I’d rather take care of you right here, and right now!” He continued. The four of them slowly began to make their way towards the man in black. Edward held out his hands with his palms facing the two groups. A blue ray shot out of them and created a force field around the man in black. The man in black smiled with a wicked smile while his eyes were glowing a light blue color. “I have no business with you all. This is between me and James…and that’s the way it’s going to stay!” Edward said as he made a motion with his hands as the blue force field crated a bubble around Lenora, Cain, and Walter and moved them to the side. He let James go and James fell to the ground. “Now, it’s time for the final face off!”
2. James picked himself back up and dusted himself off. He reached down and picked up the sword and pointed it out at the man in black. James charged toward the man in black stabbed him in the gut. James looked at the man in black and gave him a smile. He pulled the sword from his gut and backed away. Edward Carter smiled back and the hole that was left there by the sword grew back together as if nothing happened to him. “Is that all you got?” Edward asked with a smirk. James took a step back and then charged towards the man in black again and buried the sword in his gut once more. James pulled the sword back out of his gut and the wound fixed itself again. “Come on James! I thought that surely you would have more than that!” Edward said. “Now it’s my turn!” He said. Edward held out his hand and a ray of red light shot out. The lazar beam hit James and knocked him down to the ground. Edward’s eyes were glowing red and he approached James. James lifted his head and looked up at the man in black standing over him. He reached over to grab his sword and he pushed himself off of the ground. James took another charge at the man in black again. Edward disappeared and then reappeared behind James. The man in black grabbed James by the armor and threw him over by the bubble that his gang was floating in “Come on James! You can do it!” Walter shouted. “I don’t think I can! He’s too strong!” James said as he looked up at Walter. Walter looked up as if he was in thought and then he looked back to James. Walter knelt down to James face and whispered. “Try aiming for the head! I hear that the medieval people were all into the idea of decapitation! Maybe that can kill him!” Walter whispered. James nodded and gripped his sword in his right hand. He stood up and took another charge at the man in black. Edward disappeared again. James turned around to face the man in black. “Face it James! You can’t beat me!” The man in black said as he lifted his arms and his heads once again began to glow in a red color. “Edward!” A voice said from behind them. The man in black turned around. “Bachman? I thought you were dead!” Edward said surprised. “I bet you did. When you left me in that village to take the blame for all the horrible things we both did. Too bad you were wrong!” Bachman said. Edward smiled at his once friend. “Well, you know me man, I don’t take too kindly to taking the fall.” Edward said. “And now you want to rule all the universes? Is that right?” Bachman asked. “Well, don’t you think I deserve it?” The man in black said. “Now why don’t you run along now Bachman? I’ve got some work to finish.” The man in black said as he turned around to focus his attention back on James. As he turned to face James, James swung the sword and Edward’s head tumbled down to the ground. The force field bubbled that the gang was in disappeared. “I thought you guys might have needed some help.” Bachman said. “When I was sitting down in the cave, I had a vision of something. I know where we have to go next.” Bachman said. He walked by them over to the edge of Devil’s Peak and looked off of it. “Come on! We don’t have much time!” Bachman motioned as the gang followed.
3. After the gang left, the man in black’s headless body stood up and picked up the head. Edward placed his head back on his shoulder and it grew back to his body. “I thought they would never leave!” The man in black said with a sick smile on his face as he walked over to the edge of the cliff and watched James and his Kliq head towards the forest.
