"The White Rocker"A Poem by Cody Williams“The White Rocker” By Cody Williams
The white rocker remains where it had always been It sits there on the front porch Sometimes I can hear it as it rocks back and forth I peek through the blinds There is never anybody there
Try to sit in it I dare you! I can guarantee that you won’t be in it for long You’ll place your bottom in the chair And after a minute, you will find it hard to breathe
What’s in it you ask? That’s something I’m not quite sure of myself But there is something I can always feel its hands wrap around my throat when I’m anywhere near it
I often times hear a knock at the door When I go to check it Nobody is ever there But the white rocker remains Constantly rocking back and forth with nobody in it. Copyright 2014 by Cody Williams Courtesy of TRUE TERROR PUBLICATIONS A division of TTP Entertainment © 2014 Cody WilliamsAuthor's Note
