"The Little Red Haired Girl"

"The Little Red Haired Girl"

A Poem by Cody Williams

“The Little Red Haired Girl”

By Cody Williams

I heard her from the other side of the door

Her laughter and joy

It was the sound of the little red haired girl

I arose from my bed

And bumped my head

I slipped on my house shoes and walked to the door

I placed my hand on the doorknob

And opened it

I stuck out my head

And there she stood

She smiled at me proudly

And bent down

She picked up her big red ball

And skipped down the hall

She stopped

She turned

She smiled

And then she disappeared into the darkness

It seems fairly obvious to me that the little red haired girl was a ghost.

Either that, or you have wandered too close to the Peanuts Dimension...
If that's the case, Charlie Brown and Linus will be along shortly...don't let them frighten you...especially Linus, with his eerie little piano...

Who was that girl? Was she real or just a figment of your imagination? So enigmatic!!

I'm not good at poetry, neither writing nor reviewing it. But I like this. I like the surprise ending and the mystery that goes with it. Good job.

Simple but sets a vivid scene. Makes one wonder if she is good or malevolent. Nice poem.

Still think you have strengths in poetry that you can not see. Well done. Spooky and gentle but makes you think.
