a normal girl gets caught up in her parents horrible past, and is trying to find the answers before time runs out.

"
"What was that shadow!?! Is someone following us!?! " I whisper, worriedly glancing around. The cobblestone streets were still cheery, enveloped in a comforting, honey like light, from the oil fueled lanterns. The only sound was a slight hum from the people in the wooden fire lit shops, talking like there wasn't a care in the world, and the horses from the near by stable, neighing away. Tourists coming through always assume we are Amish, but we aren't,we're just a town stuck in time,as my mom always says. I catch up to alieve,a loud, obnoxious, care free girl who is always up to no good.she is also my best friend."karami, there is no one following us!"she said in a voice so loud it made me cringe."you don't know that!" "Yes I do!" "Well that doesn't matter!it could be a rabid dog, with rabies!or a plane that's about to bomb us! Or." "Karami we are NOT in the city anymore! There is nothing here!" That one really stung. You see, a while back, alieve found this great apartment in the city for really cheap, and she had this grand idea to move in there together. Of course,I didn't want to,and I made all these little excuses, the main one being that my parents would never allow it.then one day when I had gotten back home from getting groceries, there she was, drinking tea with my parents, talking up her great idea. My parents were all for it. I still didn't want to go, but she eventually talked me into it. Next thing I know, everything I ever owned is jammed in the back of alieves 10 person van, and we were getting ready for a 32 hour drive. I hugged my parents good bye, and we were off. We drove for 9 hours straight before I insisted we change places, so we stopped at a rest stop to stretch our legs. It was then I realized how nervous I was. Not like doctor office nervous, like a real, strong nervous. Driving took my mind off it, but once we were at a stop light, it gave me exactly 2 minutes and 36 seconds to go through the as many horrific scenarios as my mind could, and trust me, it's a lot. But then we were driving again. When we got there,I forgot all about my worries and focused on unpacking. I had to say, are apartment was pretty awesome. I lasted a whole week there, having the time of my life, but in the back of my mind I always had my doubts. Then one day, when alieve was taking me to meet her boss,I saw someone get mugged right in front of us. Some guy confronted him. Alieve turned to me, staring really hard at my face. I shook her off, told her I was fine, but I wasn't. Every day my anxiety got worse and worse. One day I just had a complete mental breakdown,I refused to leave the apartment. Alieve completely understood, but refused to stay if her best friend wasn't happy. I insisted she stayed told her I could get an apartment back home but she wouldn't hear it . We came back and bought a one room house in town, but now every time I see her it's like one massive guilt trip. But if you're father had a job like mine has you would be paranoid too.

"Alright.alright. I'll calm down" I whisper, still extremely on edge, like every other time I ever leave the house. She stares at me,doubt still in her eyes, then quickly over-looks it. We stepped into the horrifyingly pink, out of place mini mall alieve guilt tripped me into to going to,and for the rest of the night I tried to look like I was having fun and liked the horrible puffy dresses she was trying on to keep her happy, all while keeping a very sharp, paranoid eye on the door. When we got home I decided to take a walk to the only place I felt completely safe. So I went over the normal leaving procedures. Licenses hand gun, check. License for hand gun, check. Pepper spray check. Pocket knife key chain check. Multi tool pocket-knife check. On the run pack, check. Then the normal stuff, purse, flashlight and a book. I also decided to pack a picnic. I took the mile hike into the woods with the normal twist and turns, and finally found my happy place. Most normal people would be afraid of this place, with all its tales of the people they put here, but it's all bullhonky. To me it's the safest place in the world. It's hard to find, small enough to not be noticed on a plane radar, and probably the last place people would look for someone. I walk through the pile of prickly thorn bushes, past the half sunk warning signs, over the hill of dirt from past attempts to tear it down, and finally,I walk up to the tarnished,rust-covered,half broken fence, that surrounds the least-visited graveyard in the world. It's where they buried people with no family's,forgotten loved ones who's names were long forgotten. Unidentifiable murder victims. Even back then it was unkept, but now it's just ruins. Most of the cheap tomb stones are just rocks, halve hidden in the tall, weed filled grass and mud. The ones that are left are unidentifiable and covered in thick poised berry vines. Most of the flimsy trees buried there are either dead,or the roots of the live ones are a burrowing place of vile rats or insects. Oh how I love this place. In the far back, surrounded by a sorta moat of mud,is a two by two feet metal shack, that looked to survive many a winter, and a good beating with a bat. This is where I keep some stuff for if I need to hide. It has some blankets, a bunch of first aid kits, and enough food for a week or so. I lay my blanket down in a Simi-dry square of dead grass, and eat my picnic. Once I'm done, I lay back and put in my head phones. Not but ten minutes later, my music is interrupted by a news cast from the news app. I jolt up fearing the worst. I hastily grab my phone, somehow ripping my ear-buds In the proses. On the screen is a very close satalight image of my town.
People who look like swat members, but in green and blue, are kicking down doors and running into places, pulling out anyone they can find. I knew this day would come. All I know is, they are looking for my father, which means their looking for me,which means their looking for alieve. I quickly scan the phone, they had a while before they get to our house. I ran so fast you would think I was the one who was probably going to be in a massacre. I only stopped on the edge of town to catch my breath and think of a quick plan. They were only two blocks away from the house, so I'd have to think fast. I scurry around the backs of the houses, all ready thinking of how much to tell her, and what extra supplies to bring. When I get to the house I quickly jam in the key and don't bother to take it out as I run to the bathroom, the only place she could be hiding. "Alieve I know your in there, we have to run, okay" I say, already grabbing extra clothes and money and food for the both of us and shoving it into a backpack. She jumps out of the bathroom and bear hugs me."what is going on! Who are these people!?!" " I'll tell you everything once we are safe, but for now grabb the essentials and put on some sensible shoes." Two minuets later we were running through the forest.
we didn't slow down in till I had to find the entrances. I was half expecting her to refuse to stay here, but she was surprisingly quiet. Probably because she was so scared. Once I got to the shack,I remembered my picnic, and we could do with more food, so I sent her out to get it while I made room for us. While she's gone, I take out anything with our pictures or names and put it in a air tight seal. I then bury it in a conveniently placed hole to be dug up later. We were officially going off the grid. Even without the supplies in that two by two feet shack we would have been uncomfortable, so you could imagine how tight it was with half that space taken up. We were crammed together in a tight ball, slowly eating our soggy sandwiches while I explained what we were going to do. " we are gonna walk to the nearest town and get a room, and get our wits together, then catch the bus to any where with a public phone, the will call aunt Meg, you know the one with the mansion in the middle of nowhere? She will hook us up with a nice cabin somewhere and we'll have fake ids Intill this whole thing blows over." She tried to say something, but was intterupted by loud, gruff voices speaking in another language.they found the cemetery. We both freeze, and I pray that the disguise I made worked. It was already nicely hidden by a shrew of vines and dried mud, but I had also taken measures of my own. I dug up some of the danger signs and placed them around the poison ivy I found and carefully handled, trying to place it as naturally as possible, and me and alieve both rolled a few giant rotting stumps and some small boulders in the way to make it harder to get to. I also tried to subtlety make all the paths more appealing. The voices grow louder, and aleive whispers " what do we do?" But I don't know. My mind goes numb, and all I can think is we're gonna die, we're gonna die, over and over. The voices go silent, and a single tear slides down my cheek. There in the spot between the shack and the widest path. I know this because I can hear their foot-steps. Then suddenly a loud voice rang out, and they all moved to the path. We sat in silence for five whole five minutes in till I finally let out a sigh of relief. " why don't we get out and stretch okay?" Aleive shakily nods her head, and I help her out. She stretches and shakily walks to a tree, slumping against it. I come up with some good alibis that go with the luggage we were carrying. I decided on a simple but believable story. I would be cilla, alieve would be rose. We would be Amish teens on rumspringa, checking out the modern world. I packed everything I could into the biggest backpack I could find. By then alieve had come to her senses." What is going on! Who are those people? Who are they looking for?why are we running?" " look alieve, all I can tell you is, my father got into some messy business, and now everyone is looking for him. You want to know why you haven't seen my parents in a while? Their both on the run. And if their looking for my parents, their looking for me. And if their looking for me,their looking for you. I don't know what they would do to us, but it's not good. My aunt knows about this, so she will help us. Now do you understand? "what can I do to help?
The next day we had a game plan. Aleive,or rose as she will now be called, being the girl she is, brought her makeup bag, and she changed my face best she could, and simply just didn't where hers. I made her repeat her name over and over I till at a random moment I said "rose?" And she looked up and said "yes?" She did the same for me. We threw in the finishing touches to our backpacks, Changed cloths, and set off. We walked for two days before we found anything, eating from the food we brought and unsuccessfully sleeping in trees. We finally found a disgusting, cockroach infested, mildew covered gas station in the middle of no where, wth one measly bored looking worker. But it had air conditioning, and a atm. We step inside, disrupting a layer of muck and grim. The inside was only slightly better than the outside. The worker didn't seemed surprised by our appearance, he just swatted/waved in our direction. Rose went to the bathroom to try to clean up, and I used our cards to take out all of our savings, and tide up the stack and bought an envelope to keep it in. ( after killing the spider in it of course) then I called a cab." Yes I would like a cab going to gamafo from, um" I look up at the bored worker " where are we?" " hell if I know!" He grunts. I roll my eyes and hand him a twenty. " we're two miles off road barafin, east." " you hear that? I say into the phone." " sorry we don't send cars out that far." "I pay in cash".
It took two hours for the man to get there. By then we were as cleaned up as we could be in this hell hole. I reminded her of our alibis, and the worker offered us some hot meat witch we kindly accepted, since we had only eaten dried food for almost two days. Rose insisted she get some money,so I gave her her card. We the car finally got there, we jumped in. The second we closed the door he slammed on the gas, speeding through the woods and away from that place like it was a bomb about to go off. "So" he said " how are you?" " exited " rose said, smiling " We have heard so much about this city back home from our brother, it's going to be so exiting!" "Huh?" The driver said. I decided to intervene. " it's our rumspringa " "oh". We drove for a very long time, spouting bits and pieces of our alibis, and clutching to our seats for dear life. We finally got there, and he dropped us off at the motel we mentioned. It was the most used and popular hotel in the city, and if someone looked for us there, we would know before they could find us. We got a room near the closest fire exit. Even though we did our best to clean up in that gas station, we still looked horrible. I took a shower with the news blaring. " today we have another update on the horrible tragedy of the small town of Astia, where the terrible terrorist attack has killed 35 people, and wounded 60. Four people are missing.they are yet to be found. There are no conspiracies on why this has happened. Everyone not in need of immediate medical attention is being questioned. We now me on to." Rose turns off the tv, and I come out to comfort her, but she is surprising calm. After her shower she comes out. "What's the plan?" " I have a buddy near here who can help us find you know who." I didn't want to say her name in case someone was listening. " he can also get us new ids."
We road the bus to the place he worked, and almost didn't believe there was still a store like this. It was called "the little blue door, and looked so absolutely mysterious that people went in just to find out what in the world it was. It was sqished between two giant, boring, grey, buildings, which made the tiny black building stick out even more. "He" told me over the phone all about the roumors about his place. He didn't tell me if they were true, of course. There was the usall things on illegal stuff, ( he has had to kick out many a person ) , there was a roumor that he made anyone who went to his store to sign a agreement to never tell anyone about it ever, some kids said people went in but never came out. There were thousands of roumors about what they were selling, and nobody who went in there ever said a word about it. People knew so little about it, I'm surprised it's not one of the seven wonders of the modern world. We cross the street, and walk up. I jiggle the door, but it's locked. " that's weird, I swear he said it was open, maybe w." The door swung open so fast I couldn't comprehend what was happening. Two sets of hands pull us into the store so roughly I almost fall over the counter. I hit my head on it instead. " ow!" " welcome to the blue door" says the girl behind the counter, unfazed by our sudden appearance. She was slightly taller than us, and was wearing a long, slinky blue robe made out of almost see through cloth, with the hood up. I slowly turn around to look at the store nobody know about, and I am frozen in place by a wave of awe. This store was, by far, the most weird, and beyond beautiful store I have ever seen in my entire life.
the store looked endless, filled with a light blue mist that snaked through the items in the store like a living, breathing, maze. The only light in the room was the sunlight peeking through a loom on the ceiling. This loom had more shades of silver than I ever thought possible, and was glowing slightly from the sunlight through the window. Thousands of different and very unique crystals and orbs were hanging at different hights from the loom, making me feel clostrophopic and free at the same time. Some were set so low you would have to ovoid stepping on them. But that wasn't what was amazing about it. It was the items they were selling. It was like every fantasy, or macical book I've ever read ( witch is a ton) was brought to life, put through a tornado, and all landed into the secret room of the hogwarts castle turned library. if you can think of a non living idem that can't possibly, shouldn't,or even remotely exist, it's in here. There was everything in here. The walls were a dark Burgundy color, but you could through all the stuff hanging on it, and piled in front of it. On the walls were cases of artifacts and pictures from the Salem witch trials, collected addition wands, old news clippings on mysterious dissaperances, butterflies pinned on placks (some as bis as my head),money from states that don't exist, in languages that don't exsist, orbs, eyes, flowers, portraits, miniature statues, giant statues, tufts of glittery hair, and a single sine that was on every wall that stated " do NOT ask what anything is. If you don't know, you don't deserve it." And the walls were NEAT compared to what was actually in the room. What probably used to be neat sections was now a flurry of items. But the sounds were the most off putting thing about it all. The longer you listened, the more you heard. It reminded me of an old folk story my mother told me when I was little, about the man with a thousand tongues, who had had the garden of a thousand birds, and the music box of a thousand songs.it all melted together like a song. I realized that the person working over the counter was still talking, so I listened in." And remember, we have your prints, and you won't be able to come back again." Oh, leave em be" said a gruff, low voice. I turn around, and there was my uncle. In a dark, hooded cloak. The girl behind the counter give him a low bow, and I run up and hug him." Uncle lew! How are you? It's been so long!" He smiles " what are you worried about me for! Your the one on the run! How's that working out for ya?" " we are good, thank you" " do you like my store?" He says, gesturing around him."aleive seems to like it." I look at aleive, who was silently squealing and nerding out over everything In sight. " take whatever you want, I've got to much stuff to handle anyways." The second the words left his mouth, rose shot of like a rocket. She had five things in her hands before I even blinked. She had obsessed about this kinda stuff (well, the less gruesome parts any ways) since, well, forever. Her lunchroom conversation starter when we were kids always sounded somthing like, 'did you here about the ancient artifacts they've just released to the public in the national cosplay society' or somthing like that. I slowly brows around, picking up a couple of things here and there, all while squealed and gushed to no one in particular. It was really hard to find things that I would want because of the fact aleive saw it first. Once we were done,I had a necklace, a really awesome engraved watch on a chain, and one of the few books that were in English. Alieve had a pile of books, most in runes, a shimmering blue robe, two collectible wands, three silver charm necklaces, a strip of fabric in some kind of minuture display case, several pictures, a sorta cosplay makeup kit, a small wooden fairy Cham she put on her bracelet, shimmering servival boots, and a cross from the Salem witch trials, and a ton of other stuff I couldn't see because she stuffed it in her bag. I decided to make a last minute decision and grabbed a travel staff, that doubled for a container a no a weapon, but it didn't look enough like a weapon that it couldn't get through an airport security. It was a thick, hardy, staff, pure white with thin, black engravings of the sesons. It had a deep grip for a hand-hold, and two pointed ends. Light enough to carry by hand but just heavy enough to not break if you put all your weight on it. " alright uncle, we're done!" I

I would go through and revise it a bit, spelling, you know. But other than that it's a great and riveting story. Please write more!
