The Best Play In History

The Best Play In History

A Poem by Elizabeth Fiske
"

A poem about dreaming to be an actress...

"

They grace the stage as if they own it,

My heart has captured every moment.

They know who I am,

Staring at me,

They live the words,

Do they see what I do:

My dreams held tight in the palms of their hands?

They have made me life's biggest fan;

If they do it,

I can do it even better.

It's my passion,

My love,

My destiny given to me

From fate's very glove.

I can't deny it.

Neither can they.

If they knew my heart,

They would understand,

That what I see,

Is far beyond

Just fantasy.

If  God is the director,

I will perish;

I must take on the role.

My passion will stay whole.

Everyone will finally see

That my life

Is

The best play in history.
