Playing Romeo And Juliet

Playing Romeo And Juliet

A Poem by Elizabeth Fiske
"

Kind of my twist on Romeo and Juliet...

"
I know they say we don't belong
But can't we just pretend
That this is right when it's wrong?
When our worlds intertwine
The colors of the sky,
Collide.
All they see,
Is the end of the world,
Because of thee.

Why won't they let us be together?

Why won't they let us share forever?

Should we run away?

Should we wait for a better day?

I don't care,
Kiss me
Before they find us here!
Before you must
Disappear...

They don't understand true love,
A magical attraction from up above.
My heart is crazy,
It needs you!
If you're there,
Please drag me down.
There's nothing wrong with one little peck,
A perfect moment,
You won't forget.

Now's the moment,
Do what you must.
With thee,
I lay all my trust.
Forget thy artificial night;
Our love is brighter than the sun,
Burning up,
Restoring all that's undone,
Bringing faith to the unloved.

If I shalt ever feel the slightest broken,
Lost in thoughts unspoken,
It would be to thy absence.

Banishment...
Nonsense.
To slay my cousin...
To banish my love...

Sacrifices creates true love.

I would love thee forever...

Now's the moment,
Do what you must.
With thee,
I lay all my trust....

I'm really getting tired of
Playing Romeo and Juliet.
We're tearing and breaking.
I know what comes next...

To fake my death...

Thee drink thy poison...

Is it really worth it,
A permanent rest?

Perhaps I shall confess,
To an ending,
Not one of the best.

Death and woe;
Not a nice ending to know.

I love it - gulping the poison with glee!

I'm proud of it too! It's a different twist on a story we all know and love. A unique view on a normally tragic story.
