The Daylight Of Me

The Daylight Of Me

A Poem by Elizabeth Fiske
"

A poem about a pure world that I want this world to be, but it can't because we're all stuck here trying to figure out what life really is

"
A bump in the night
Gives you a fright?
Then how do you live
In pure daylight?
I rather stray
Away from a day,
To live in a world
I have unfurled;
Where a step's a mile,
Hearts are freely versatile,
Rainbows are storms,
Love's a life form!

You can't open this door,
Until you adore
The one your made for.
So I'll wait with the key,
While you set sail
On life's open sea.

And to this day I wait patiently,
In the daylight of me...

I love the part

You can't open this door,
Until you adore
The one your made for.
So I'll wait with the key,
While you set sail
On life's open sea."

Everyone should feel this way but most just settle for anything. Very strong self assured poem of someone who knows what they want and is willing to wait on it instead of accepting anything.

One of my favorites by you. It awakens a pursuit of our own desires as the readers looking in. Your wording was just right, you couldn't have formed it any better.
