Contagious Patterns

A Poem by CoconutSprinkles08

I've written this story so many times before:
You and I, a boy and a girl.
We become friends and stay together.
Then I fall for you, being not so clever.
I keep it a secret so you'll never find out.
Inside my mind, I dream and I shout.
We become close and so attached.
Next thing we know, my heart comes unlatched.
I spill the truth(I love you) and hold nothing back.
But you leave me, heart's now cracked.
I wonder what would've happened if I wasn't me.
Where would the both of us be?
So in love and forever together?
Been with me, never having met her?
She is the only one for your heart.
I've been only a friend, from the very start.
Our friendships fades as awkward ensues.
I discover, never should have told you.
It wasn't worth the effort to tell
This secret, as everything fell.
But one day when you're drowning in your misery,
You'll look back, thinking of me.
And you'll finally realize and say,
"Wow, that girl really loved me."
