"I think the toughest battle in life is to remain that pure, innocent, optimistic child we all once were. Society tries to teach you to become logical and 'proper,' but I think the only way to survive is to remember that, at one point in time, you believed you could do anything, and you didn't care about what other people thought. And isn't that what people tell you to do all the time anyway?" Me
"There's something that only you can do in this world. Just because you may think of yourself as ordinary or someone that will never be 'cool' or 'popular', there's a goal that only you can achieve. There's an impression that only you can give other people. There's a life changing event that only you can create. No one can replace you. Don't give up on yourself." Me
"And finally I twist my heart round again, so that the bad is on the outside and the good is on the inside, and keep on trying to find a way of becoming what I would so like to be, and could be, if there weren't any other people living in the world." Anne Frank
"It's really a wonder that I haven't dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart." Anne Frank
“Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today.” James Dean
“Dreams are illustrations... from the book your soul is writing about you.” Marsha Norman
“In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.” Michael Jackson

I adore this for so many reasons. You portrayed something most never uncover, truth be told, and you raised awareness in such a manner that it's loudly spoken of and just...contageous, makes all of us as readers somehow want to make our own differences in lives and not just miss signs.

This poem is written from an interesting perspective. I don't think I've ever read a poem that speaks directly to the abuser before. Some of those pictures below the poem were just heart-breaking.
