Night StalkerA Poem by Bailey C. WritingI love cats. So I wrote a poem about a more mysterious one.
The small creature stalks through the grass
Silent as the eye of a storm, not a rustle to be heard Quickly letting each house pass Refusing to let it's nightly stroll be deferred It comes to a stop at the base of a tree It crouches down, ready to leap It springs up into the air, flying free Landing on a sturdy branch without even a peep Glancing up, it's green eyes glint It sits under the moon's bright glow Giving the world below a strange tint Luna continues smiling at the world below The creature's sleek fur is barely visible With fur as dark as death It looks almost mythical It's slender body rising with every slow breath A beautiful stray of the night The cat stares for hours at the moon It sees me looking, but shows no fright The cat and I sit attune One of the most beautiful creatures to me Is of the feline family Like the one sitting in this tree All cats deserve to have that strong feline vanity I stand to leave, it's getting late I whisper farewell to my little friend Warm blankets for me await The cat's gaze at the moon does not end I wonder how long it will stay Staring up at Luna's radiant glory And as I am walking away I decide that this cat will make a good story © 2013 Bailey C.
