The HeartA Poem by Bailey C. WritingThis was a writing assignment for my creative writing class. Thought I'd put it up.
Each pound, each beat
Moving one along in life The pounding on pavement of frightened feet The steady beat of the most vital bass drum The smooth beating of wings on a bird's flight Beats are vital to moving feet to grasping fingers to the twitch of an eye But the controls are fragile So erratic and unpredictable Under fire from disease and malfunctions How can something so small so odd in its architecture be the essence of life the reason a little boy can swing the reason an old man can play bingo the reason I can write this "Can't save them all" But that is my mission My reason for being I may not be God but I'm a good place to start
