30 day Notice

30 day Notice

A Poem by Judas Hammer
"

My time on 12th and Centre in San Pedro. They shot the last scene of friday part two at my former home......I know so what!

"
30 Day Notice:

It stinks
the air wreaks of surrender
Large mounds of trash
lay still in the Alley
next to my Small green abode
Gang Graffiti faces my North
hopelessness faces my south
Rough black youths use my alley
as a throughway
and bathroom
strutting through with bad intentions
my neighbors stare at me
with owl like orbitals
staring
glaring
attempting to pierce
my soul
and locate my secret
place
I stay in a one level, two roomed
green shack
owned by a former male figure skater
from Palos Verdes
he collects the rent, always during the day
My small home sits on the corner of 12th and Centre
police sirens mix with Mariachi Music
the two create a disco of the damned
This is my reality
but it suddenly becomes clear
my thirty day notice
will start
tomorrow

Your imagery was perfect, I did get lost towards the end of bit and leave this feeling a bit confused. Then again that may be normal for me cause I do it to myself all the time lol. You're definitely on to something with this write though.

This is absolutely gritty and real. You've painted a picture of dark, dirty streets.

God, it sounds absolutely hideous. You have to get out of that place today. It is absolutely destructive of all the finer aspects of life. But it as created a muscular verse. The best touches for me are '...disco of the dammned. This is my reality...' I hope you get out before the nasties work out you are nailing their ferral eyes in your words! Survive, escape!
As to poets being created there. Methinks they are far more likely to be killed there.

I like it but i actually didn't like the ending. For me it feels lacking. I kinda want you to explain more why it will start tomorrow. Why didn't it start before? Why not next week?
