Chiniski

A Poem by Judas Hammer
"

ode to my inspiration

"

Chiniski

 I met you at Williams

You know that book store on 6th

With that a*****e with the glasses

and the kid with the red hair

I went with you to Hollywood

When you were writing that script

Hanging with Mickey

drinking good wine on someone else dime

I went with you to the Post Office

Caring letters

Sorting mail

This is probably the thing that kicked you a*s and made you write

I ate Ham and Rye with you.

As you told me about bad skin, bouts with your father and being a nazi

these are the years I can relate too.

All with the exception of being a nazi

I was with there with all the women.

The texas girl with the bottle

The crazies.

The drunks.

The co-dependents

We have all had our share.

I read pulp with a heavy heart

Knowing you would be leaving soon.

I laugh as you talked about Hemingway

I agree about Fante, he is great.

I never got to the French guy.

wine and cheese make me sleepy

You moved to the city

you know, the one by the harbor named after St Peter.

The place of your death is the place of my California life

I never met you

but I know you

every time I walk by a bar on pacific I wonder.......
