Vanilla Candy

Vanilla Candy

A Poem by Judas Hammer
"

Eye candy........

"

Vanilla Candy

I sat at the table

On the sun drenched cement paths

Outside the Gay Coffee shop

The one at Junipero and Broadway

Watching the Pretty girls

Stroll by the sea of putrid grass

Housing the homeless and insane

Long Vanilla legs

Holding up blue, hip high, cut off shorts

So lovely is the goddess

Her feet pitter softly

On the wide clear sidewalk

Pretty toes with red nail polish

Protruding from summer sandals

Young flawless bodies walk erect.

Dark black sunglasses planted firmly on her face.

The beautiful vision glides down the walkway

Almost fleeting

Almost dancing

Holding thoughts of future love and spring sales.

I want to talk

But what do I say?

With my honey slick tongue wagging

But to only form words crafted for the seasoned women.

Who have given up on hope.

Who have given up on men.

What can I say to these fresh-faced beauties?

Who have never been on the other side of madness.

I stalk her with my hungry eyes

Vanilla shoulders

Vanilla legs

Sweet vanilla back

Hair floating like golden fire

Her mind on a Meterosexual man-boy

Who cares more about his designer jeans, edged eyebrows and fixed gear bikes,

than her.

I turn away my time and chance has passed

Soon the butch lesbians will be here

And they are more man than me

I think this piece is amazing man. The way that you illustrate the entire scenario and weave thoughts through it left me wondering. Makes me wonder who all plays the invisible man daily. also makes me think about the people we wander by daily lost in thought. In the end though i dont know if you needed to say anything at all. Some of the best friends i've ever had were met without any conversation at all. Its just an instant connection. And i rambled on again.. Still amazing work man.

thank you.
I really like this, JH...it's funny, the older we get the younger THEY get ;-) That last line made me laugh out loud...and I have four kids in my house right now (my 9 year old daughter and 3 of her friends) and they all just stopped playing and just sort of stared at me xD "What's so funny, Mom?" "Oh, nothing, just picturing butch lesbians with more game than men..." *laugh* Great work here...thanks for sharing it with us.

Always my pleasure.
I usually order the vanilla/chocolate swirl from dairy queen for my salvation.

What I like most about this piece and most of your pieces, is the curiosity, the little adventures, the quest search and the tenacity when the grail waves at you and slips away again.

Keep chasing the grail. It's a wild ride and worth every moment.
