Murder for Freedom

Murder for Freedom

A Poem by Judas Hammer
"

Some times I vent. I saw something and just could not shake it......This is the only way I could get it out.

"

Murder for Freedom

The most horrible thing

My eyes did see,

A little Arabic boy without his mouth

On TV

Brown eyes exploded in fear

Under rubble alone

As a military Drone

Hit him home

Than in an instant it came to me.

If this is the cost of Freedom,

I don’t want to be free.

To all the Military personal fighting for free

I would rather have you home standing next to me

Rather than coming home to a country that has forgotten thee.

And has their minds fixated on reality TV.

If this is the cost to be the boss

Let some one else lead.

I’m tired of seeing the innocents bleed.

Why do veterans come home still in need.

It used to be blood for money.

It used to be blood for oil

Now its blood just for blood as the missiles thud

Who is this enemy I just can’t see?

They tell me they wear robes and turbans and want to kill me.

But I believe the real enemy is smiling at me

Asking for my vote but then saying I can’t question he.

Politics has me sick

I feel like I have been tricked

My spirit licked

Black verse white

Red verse blue

Me verse you

Is this the precious vote millions died for?

So it goes meaningless on the Senate floor?

A Rich man in another country has more power than you

But what do you care, having more important things to do

Like dancing with the stars.

Test-driving hybrid cars.

While thirty second sound bites tear open closed scars.

They got us all fooled thinking we have to be like this.

What countries out there are attacking the Swiss?

They seem happy as they exchange a cheek-to-cheek kiss.

Look at you American!

Scared of your sister and brother

Just because they are wearing a different color cover.

I’m sorry but my thoughts escape me

I still see that baby boy with his mouth rip off on TV.

If this is freedom put us all into slavery

It’s already fundamental.

Instead on your wrist the shackles are on your temple.

This ain’t freedom

But I’ll leave that alone

Hey American

What will happen when the Drones come home.....

You have me feeling with my head or is it thinking with my heart. This write drives home the pointlessness or point with like... a sledge hammer. So eloquently did you clear up the issue..."Murder for Freedom" Freedom ought to be free for all life on this planet. I don't want hate mail from any patriots out there for I too love freedom and know historically freedom has not been kept for free. I too have patriotic blood flowing through my veins, but in this technological age no one is or has been fighting fair. Enough is enough or should I say too much.
Rock on Judas...Let us all get "em" thinking!

the war
night or thought
"They" just won't get caught
Not like Ples did
When some one flipped the switch at the
Office Bar
Standing on the table
Full moon and half pint
just a first world strike
of the drone at home.

Right you are sir. War plays no role in the rightous shaping of future generations as
war did during and after WW2. Then the role of war was to kick-start this
american industrial manufacturing machine, and it did just that. Now the
language of war is that of an artificial elegance only. I mean, ask the generals
who's job it is to wage it, what all those ribbons on their chest are for. And they
will tell you that they are for theaters and campaigns and task groops
and assaults and formations, not skeletons or burned bodies or children
with their faces blown off. And because war never touches, us especially
here in suburban america, it comes to us as a tv program like Bones,
or Two Broke Girls. (sik)

Good stance, better poem, great read....dana

I think the drones have a limited use. On the other hand, why can't we tighten our borders to protect the homeland? I think the president having a "kill list" of US citizens for drones to strike is dangerous territory, but then again we live in a post constitutional republic...
