Controlled Burn

Controlled Burn

A Poem by Cobblestone Traveler
"

A mutual understanding of unbalanced love. A beautiful compromise or a deadly timebomb? Who knows? Who cares?

"
Relishing in the warmth of systematic chaos
As I devour the origami rose from your hands
You are adorned with my fresh laurel wreath
I fashioned with a cool and steady comprehension
              And with no apprehension
For I fully know I give you gold for flaxen foil
Your regard for my heart grants sufficient weight
I follow your guidance yet I remain protected
Abandon all notions of injustice and deception
    There is only reception
Delighting in these fleeting bursts of heaven
Infused with our radiant mutual dysfunction
Never offering less than the honor of honesty
The lessons we could learn from play in safe spaces
    From our feisty, friendly faces

I really liked the imagery in this and honestly, it was was pretty great! If I could offer some advice, the line 'your regard for my heart grants sufficent weight' feels a little clunky, maybe rephrase it somehow? Other than that, I really enjoyed reading it!

Wow, love this poem.
You've used choice language and chosen a strong recognisable structure.
I loved "Infused with our radiant mutual dysfunction" sums up a lot of things very well.
Thanks for sharing

Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D
I love the structure you incorporated into this. Love is utter chaos, it's beautiful and hateful, it is just plain crazy in what it can do to us, in how it affects us.

Very enjoyable poem, Fellow Traveler! :)
