And I'm Unwell Again

And I'm Unwell Again

A Poem by Cobblestone Traveler
"

When the struggle is only overwhelming on your end.

"
A moment prior I was strong
a self-sufficient soul

A glimpse of your content
and I'm unwell again

Collapsed over sheets
drenched with tears

Wishing this salty release
would grant a flood of Forget

Reduced to pondering
drowning's sweet appeal

To grasp at love's vapor
as it evades my touch

Mourning the reality of
my irrelevant existence

As you laugh with your friends
and live out your merry days

Carried this knowledge for eons
of our undeniable discordance

Forever making daily peace
with my embossed tragic pages

Built myself an ivory cloud
taught the heart to smile

But one glimpse of your content
and I'm unwell again

I can relate to this and that drew me right in. The stanzas are splendidly written and reach into the emotional core. Just when we think we've moved on, all it can take sometimes is one little thing to bring the pain back. Thank you for sharing this excellent write.

Heartbreaking. Sometimes when our health and happiness is this fragile, we're not all that healthy and happy. Really nice write.

Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed the read!
So so true..... Just when you think you can move on and you think you have healed, wham! Something triggers a memory! I know the feeling exactly. To grasp at love's vapor..... So tender and effective in feeling the pain.....wonderful writing:)

Very kind words, and I thank you!!
Very good choice of words and few lines in the beginning turns wet!

It hurts, that way many times.

Well done.
