Strategic Restraint

Giving yourself (and requesting) slack when you're growing exponentially.

I know you may think me 

Weak and naive

And maybe I am  

To a degree

But there will be battles

I choose to not yet fight

It's not a weakness; 

It's simply insight

I carefully study

All angles and curves

Their size and their depth

The purpose they serve

To sand or to knead

To carve or to file

I choose when and how

Deciding the style

This means I may leave

A splinter or two

Addressing more jagged,

More pressing issues

I'm still just learning

How to use this knife

Be patient with me

As I whittle my life

Your poetry is beautiful... to express the least. Your mastery over words... or more should I say your vocabulary; and the way you transfer them from heart to mind to page is quite wonderful.

Sometimes it's hard to figure out if a relationship is doing one well
And often overlooked
But a bad relationship
Çan really mess up a person's life .....
If all else seems calm
