Alone

Alone

A Story by Raven

I stared out into the pouring rain, groggy and confused. Looking around, I could see only dirt, nothing but dirt. Without consciously thinking, I knew I was on the ground. Trying to sit up, I felt pain shoot through my arms, crumbling back down to the earth, cringing at the new pain of landing. Carefully, slowly, and without jerking myself upright again, I got into a sitting position, taking in my surroundings. Oh God, where am I?
Like the rest of my body, thinking brought on a pain like no other pain I'd felt in my life. I tried to think of what had happened before I ended up out here in the woods. All that was drawn was a blank. The sky above was dark; not a single star was out, making it seem a lot eerier than normal. A draft blew in, covering me in a blanket of cold. Shivering uncontrollably, I asked myself why it was so cold. I wrapped my arms around my abdomen, wincing, I touched bare skin. Glancing down, eyes growing wider, I wasn't wearing anything; no clothes, no nothing.
A wave of nausea swept over me. Bending to the side, I heaved greatly in a shrub off to my right, stomach convulsing out of disgust. What might have happened, how I ended up here in the deepest part of the woods, and why were the questions I desperately wanted answered. Without panicking, I stood, precariously. Warily, I looked around in search of some tree, bush, or flower that would strike me as familiar, but the trees were just too thick to actually make out any specific details to clarify something that I wasn't even sure about. Even my own name was lost in the painful, pulsating abyss of my mind.
Thinking about my name, I ran through a list while admiring a willow tree up ahead. Staring at it, recognition over what this was hit me. Willow. My name was Willow, my last name was.... was....
I knew somehow that it started with "G", yet couldn't figure out if what it was was right or not. Knowing that I had to find out sooner or later, I started to walk, only walk, so as to keep an eye on shadows that casted off every branch, every tree, and every other thing shadows animate from.
Finally, after it seemed like an eternity, I saw a break in the trees. Quietly, taking deliberate steps, I pushed aside a stray, low-bowing limb and strode out onto the shoulder , a sight like no other lay  ahead. My God, I thought, what is this?

Author's Note

Raven
I had wrote this when I was about 11 or 12. Can’t remember, but just felt like putting it up. Probably not the best written work I’ve done, but... I don’t care. Also it's not really finished, so, yeah.
