A Happy Revelation

A Happy Revelation

A Poem by Angela Sparks

A breath in the air,
It's soft and sweet.
The wet sand,
Cool under my feet.
It's hard to comprehend,

That not long ago,
The water was too salty,
The sand too clingy,
But now I realize I was faulty.
My thoughts were that of a sour being.

Who knew what happiness could reveal?
It's as if a fog had been lifted,
Now the beauty I can see.
All that hollow resentment,
It seems to have left me.

Happiness, so life changing.
I wonder, am I the same?
My personality from before,
How much has it changed?
Has another me been born?

Although I thrive for answers,
Ill save my questions for a different day,
Right now I think ill enjoy the sun, without the rain.

It's been awhile:) it's harder to right poetry when I'm so fucking happy. I'm learning though. Slowly.

I love your author's note of poetic inspiration and absolute joy. This poem then was the perfect revelation, contrasts between the suffering and the smiles. May you feel this rebirth every single day. xo

It's very true, Angela. It's good to be reminded and to nicely nudge us into putting our 'bah humbug' filter away a lot more often! Happiness can not only change our outlook but also our health - there's a lot to be said for it! Hope you don't mind me pointing out the 2 instances off 'ill' rather than i'll in the final stanza. A truly happy positive person would probably not say anything, so I'll have to keep working on that!
Nice job!

Gee
Best struggling when happy than reeling of bucket loads when sad. Enjoyed this

You nailed this one, dear poet. Emotions artfully set upon a page. No ego, just your heart in tune with your soul and your words in tune with the reader. Not only nicely done, but 'perfectly' done.
