Whispers

Today I had a conversation,
With who doesnt matter,
Let's just say he told me a secret,
He whispered sweet words of hate,
And dispair,
Into my ear
I stood frozen in fear,
As I slowly understood the meaning of his words,
Then he receded into the darkness,
And left me feeling like Alice,
Tumbling down the rabbit hole,
But instead of wonderland,
I drop into hell where I'm instantly tormented by demons,
As I replay the words my twisted mind,
My blood turns cold,
And I fall on my knees,
Screaming to the heavens,
But instead of hope,
I'm alone,
And empty,
Replaying the message through my head,
And now I'm smashing the ground with bare hands,
Breaking bones,
And tearing flesh,
Now I'm finally understand the meaning of these words,
Forgive,
And forget,
So simple,
Yet so elegant,
But can it be,
I've never forgiven,
Or forgotten,
So I'm all twisted up,
Because could I ever let it go,
To finally forgive those,
Who made my heart dead and cold,
To release my hate,
The one emotion that has gotten me through life,
To finally be able to not look back,
And truly forgive any misgivings,
And forget any wrongdoings,
Could that truly be the final piece to the puzzle,
Could I finally be at peace,
Finally be free of the constant hate,
And agony,
But still I hear no answers,
Still no hope,
This is a decision I have to make on my own,
So I slowly get back in my feet,
And I climb back up the rabbit hole,
With a new perspective,
And with a feeling of true bliss,
I believe I'm ready to forgive,
And forget
