Cubs get lost in the forest and make unlikely friends

Once upon a time, there were three little bears. Their names were Paxton, Weston and Mckalyn. They live in the forest next to a beautiful stream where they swam and played all day long. They loved nothing more than to wander into the forest and pick berries and nuts and sometimes they would even luck into finding a hive full of honey. Well I don’t know if I would call it luck with all the bee stings they would get trying to get the honey.

Paxton was the oldest and it fell to him to protect and take care of his brother and sister. They were still just little bears and the forest could be a dark and scary place. He always watched over the little bears even though he would have liked to do something’s on his own.

One day Paxton decided it would be ok if he went fishing down the stream by himself. What bad could happen? He would be able to hear his brother and sister if anything went awry. Paxton sat on the bank of the stream and started to catch all kinds of fish. He’d never seen anything like it. He was so preoccupied with all the fish he was catching he forgot to listen for the little bears.

Weston and Mckalyn were just little bears but they had the heart of a full grown grizzly. They wandered around the yard here and there looking for berries. Before they knew it they had wandered away from home and into a part of the forest they didn’t recognize. Mckalyn was scared but Weston told her, “It’ll be ok sis. We can’t be far from home. Paxton will come find us.”

As the two little bears sat at the base of a big oak tree they saw something very strange. A tiny little person with wings flew up to them. Then they saw five more. “What are you?” Mckalyn asked the little people. “I’ve never seen anyone like you in the forest before.”
“We’re fairies.” Said one of the tiny creatures. “We live in the forest just like you. We saw you were lost and we wanted to tell you everything would be ok. We wouldn’t let anything happen to little bears.”

Paxton, finished with his fishing, packed all the fish up and took them back home. When he got there he called for the little bears. “Weston! Mckalyn! Where are you?” He yelled. When he did hear a reply his heart sank in his chest. He began to search everywhere he could think of but to no avail. He decided they must have wandered into the forest and he was very worried.

The fairies helped Weston and Mckalyn to find berries and nuts for them to eat and they played games and laughed. Paxton heard the laughter and ran to the big oak tree where they were playing. “There you are!” He exclaimed, “ I’ve been worried sick looking for you. But I’m glad you’re ok. Let’s go home now.” “ But what about our friends?” The little bears asked excitedly. “ Who are you talking about?” Paxton asked. It seems the fairies had hidden in the forest when they saw Paxton coming. ”I don’t see anyone.” Paxton said. “They were fairies. They played with us all day.” Mckalyn exclaimed. “Well we need to get home.” Paxton said and they all walked back to their little cottage.

Weston and Mckalyn watched out their window until one day the fairies came to see them. They wanted to play and the little bears were fun. The fairies, Weston and Mckalyn became best friends and played and sang every day after that.

And they all lived happily ever after….

The End
