Once upon a time, in a distant land, there was a wondrous and magical kingdom. Its lands were vast, its waters pure and its beauty was matched by no other place on earth. Its name was The kingdom of Dalton.

The Kingdom of Dalton was ruled by the beautiful and wise Queen Soni. She was known in kingdoms far and wide as one of the wisest, fairest and greatest rulers since the time of Charlemagne. The kingdom became such a wonderful, peaceful and prosperous kingdom only because Queen Soni, as peaceful as she was, ruled with an iron fist. She was not a tyrant but judged fairly and honestly. She was the heir to a hallowed treatise of law passed down from ancient times. Which taught her how to rule with fairness, honor and grace.

Queen Soni had an unimaginable army. She knew the only way to protect such a wonderful kingdom from those who would want to possess it for themselves was with military might. No other kingdom would dare challenge the Kingdom of Dalton. For centuries the legends were told of the terrible defeat and judgement the aggressors had faced and the complete annihilation of their inhabitants by the kingdoms rulers in the past. Not one living soul was left to ever challenge the Kingdom of Dalton again. As cruel as it sounded, this approach had saved countless lives by ensuring no one would ever attack the kingdom.

One day while strolling in her wondrous gardens, the Queen was approached by an unknown man wearing a dark cloak. She couldn’t quite see his face because of the hood that covered his head. He stood in front of her blocking her path. Suddenly with the wave of his arms Queen Soni was surrounded by smoke. The Queen, unexpectedly, fainted in terror.

When the Queen awoke, she found herself in a dimly lit hall. The walls were dark and made of large blocks of stone. There were chairs along the walls surrounding the room and in the center a large rectangular table surrounded by more chairs. At the end of the table was a chair fit for a king. “What’s happened? Where am I?” the Queen thought to herself. “Who has brought me here?” The Queen exclaimed “This better be good or I’ll have your heads! I had an appointment for a tattoo in an hour. Do you have any idea how hard it is to book that guy!”

The Queen heard creaking behind here, as she turned she saw a large wooden door slowly open. A man wearing the same dark cloak entered the hall. “My Queen, We apologize for bringing you here this way but we had no choice.” The man, who could only be described as a monk, said. “There is an evil rising in the east that threatens your kingdom. One that will devour your people, that no army can defeat.” The Queen was intrigued. “What possible threat could the Kingdom of Dalton face that our armies couldn’t defeat?” The Queen asked.

The monk explained “An evil alchemist has been tasked by his dark master to create a potion that will destroy your armies and devastate your people. Then he alone can rule the lands of the Kingdom of Dalton. The alchemist has worked day and night and has almost perfected his formula. They intend to introduce it into your kingdom by bribing your food and drug council so they can sell this evil concoction openly. They’ll make people believe it will help them but in reality it will destroy their lives.” “ Who would do such an evil thing to the people?” Asked the Queen. “The evil master is named Pfizer. An evil ancient sorcerer only concerned with his own well being.”

The Queen was appalled at the idea anyone would do such a thing and now that she knew about the plot she was going to put a stop to it. She thanked the monk for his concern and for bringing the information to her. She knew he was correct in bringing her here this way. The court bureaucrats would have blocked the monk from gaining an audience with her at all costs if they were involved.

Queen Soni was transported back to her garden. She headed straight to her throne room and gathered her most trusted council. They all sat around a large luxurious round table as the Queen told them of the evil plot. Her master of war said “I will call our most skillful knights. They will masterfully gain access to the evil sorcerer Pfizer’s lair and eliminate him and everyone under his control. They’ll be on their way by nightfall.”

The queen's minister of internal affairs said, “I will have everyone in the food and drug council taken to the dungeons and interrogated!” Queen Soni added, “If anyone is found to be a part of this plot I declare they shall be brought in front of all the people of the Kingdom of Dalton and cut to pieces. Remove one limb at a time! Their treacherous heads last!”

By the end of the next day the evil sorcerer Pfizer’s lair lay in ruins. Not a soul left alive. By the following week four of the food and drug council had been dragged to the community square and dismembered in front of cheering crowds. The Queen had not only saved her people from unimaginable suffering but made it clear that corruption among her trust Stewards and retainers would not be tolerated.

The people of the Kingdom of Dalton loved their Queen. They were so happy that they had a huge feast, inviting nobles and monarchs from other lands. The people were happy and Queen Soni remained a hero to her people.

And they all lived happily ever after….

The End
