![]() Johnce the Giant SlayerA Story by Cookie![]() A boy must save his town and become hero.![]() Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a brave little boy named Johnce. He was only five years old, but he had the heart of a lion and the courage of a knight. He liked to play in the forest and swim in the streams. One day, while he was playing in the forest, Johnce heard a loud noise. He followed the sound to find a terrible giant causing destruction and terrorizing the townspeople. Johnce had never seen a giant before. The giant was so tall that he could easily pick up houses and throw them around like they were toys. As the giant walked, the ground shook causing the townspeople to run with fear. Johnce knew he had to stop the giant and save the town, but he was just a little boy and the giant was so big and strong. However, Johnce didn't let that stop him. Johnce was brave and clever. He came up with a plan. Johnce saw the giant had shackles hanging from his waist. If he could lock them, the town would be saved. He quickly set off to put his plan into action an end to the giant's reign of terror. He climbed up a tall tree and waited for the giant to pass by. When the giant was directly below him, Johnce jumped onto the giant's head, startling him. The giant tried to shake Johnce off, but the little boy held on tight. Johnce then noticed that the giant had a ticklish spot on his ear, so he tickled it with all his might. The giant stopped and tried to swat Johnce like a fly. Johnce kept tickling the giant and he laughed so hard that he fell over. Johnce was able to jump down and lock the giant's shackles. With the shackles locked, the giant was no longer able to wreak havoc and terrorize the town. Johnce became a hero overnight. The townspeople were so grateful they threw a big feast in his honor. They made him the towns official giant slayer. The giant was grateful Johnce had spared his life and only put him in shackles. He promised if they would free him he would be good from then on. From that day forward, Johnce and the giant were the best of friends, and Johnce would visit him every day to play and have fun. The townspeople lived happily ever after, knowing that they had a little hero in their midst who would always be there to protect them and their town. And so, the legend of Johnce, the five-year- old giant slayer, was passed down from generation to generation, inspiring children everywhere to be brave and to never give up, no matter how small they may be.
