My Dream

My Dream

A Poem by Mason Rayburn

I had a dream,
And in the dream there was you.
And the dream was good for a time.
But I found one day
A wall had sprung up between us.
Where did that wall come from?
It's so cold
On my side of the wall without you.
This was my dream.
I had dreamt a good dream.
So where did this wall of sadness
Come into my good dream?
Then I realized
That our dreams had collided-
Yours and mine.
But your dream was a nightmare,
And it choked the happiness from my dream.
Wherefore did your nightmare
Takeover my good dream?
How could your dream do this?
I thought we were dreaming the same thing...

I liked the subject. However, if you try to expand it, and make the reader feel as if they were feeling the same thing, it would be amazing. When you're trying to go for a certain feel, close your eyes and simply feel that emotion for a while. Then try to describe it. It could help a lot in your poems.
