Watching

Watching

A Poem by Mason Rayburn

Have you ever watched the wind?
How it dances in the trees?
Have you ever watched a leaf
As it floats upon the breeze?
Have you ever watched a life
As it whistles right on by?
Have you ever watched the moon
As it wanes through the sky?
I wonder what would happen
If the people of today
Would take a moment to watch
As their lives just fade away.
Doesn't it make you wonder?
Doesn't it make you sigh?
The sadness of a friend
As you look into their eyes.
The gentle of the past
Is now lost upon today
So what would people think
If it all just went away?
