The Listener
A Poem by Mason Rayburn
You
lay in your bed
With grief on your mind
You wish there wasn't
A thing such as time
But little do you know
There's a man next to you
Quietly sitting
And listening to you
He's called the Listener
He takes all your pain
Crumples it up
And throws it away
So pour out your feelings
Your grief and despair
Give it to him
You'll feel lighter than air
He takes every burden
Every ounce of your sorrow
He takes it all promising
A brighter tomorrow
And when he has finished
Taking your pain
He'll leave but will always
Return again and again
So call on the Listener
When you feel all alone
Or when life's cold wind
Cuts straight to your bone
He'll be right there
Right next to you
Ready to listen
And comfort you

Not sure if this is what you were going for, but, knowing you, it might be.
But this poem reminded me of Christ.
We don't always realize it, but he is always next to us. He listens to our problems, comforts us, and helps lighten our burdens. No matter what we're going through, no matter how hard it may seem, no matter how alone we feel, he's there for us.
So, in other words, like every other poem I've read by you...
....I loved it.

After rereading it while I was posting it, though, I did see the resemblance to Christ. Whether I realized it at the time of writing my poems or not, a lot of them actually have some kind of spin towards God. Supernatural inspiration. :3
