For Her Sake

For Her Sake

A Poem by Mason Rayburn

I fear for her
As I ought to and should
For I am a man, aren't I?
A father to be
Someday to be
Of one beautiful and fair white bride
Assaulted she is
On all sides she is
By the cruel and unusual of this world
So I fear for her
Protective of her
Must I be for her sake, not mine
My challenge to any
Death to any
Who dare bring harm to my girl
