~ Enfants de la campagne

~ Enfants de la campagne

A Poem by Clyde du Coeur
"

Childhood memories.

"

Running through a cornfield

Dodging its broad stems;

Playing hide and seek in a farmer’s playground

Laughter fills the atmosphere…

Skipping down a lonely stream

Treading lightly across pebble stones

Following the leader

Showing the way to a new destination…

Dancing in a hayfield

Leaping over the stacks one by one

Joy fills my body –

Freedom, hope and happiness in my heart…

Ah, this brings back memories of my childhood. Used to spend summers on a dairy farm where the corn & the hay would grow so tall and hide n seek was a blast until Pappy would get mad if we broke the stalks by our play. LOL Do kids still play hide n seek or follow the leader anymore?
Wonderful imagery. Thanks for sharing. ;o)
