All's Not Well But Will End WellA Poem by Clyde du CoeurFollowing a stupid family quarrel at my mother's hospital bedside, a sequence of emotional turmoil followed.
She said
'I wanted it to stop so I closed my eyes and said "I want to sleep now" ' Taking the hint, the others left in an orderly fashion While I sat at the foot of the bed watching your so-called slumber. She said 'I thought it would be good if I lay there' ~ I wanted to go up but I thought 'She's been through a lot, I'll let her sleep now.' She said 'I wanted you to wake me and tell me your feelings, but then I awoke and you were gone...' Off to the bathroom to cry my eyes out Frustrated at myself for being so immature, claiming 'All I ever do is make people feel hatred.' 'What I did was silly' (She said) 'A girlie approach' 'But I was careless' (I said) 'But I'm here now'. 'That's what I wanted' (We said.) © 2014 Clyde du CoeurAuthor's Note
