Snake Eyes

Snake Eyes

A Poem by Clyde du Coeur
"

Penned on 29th December 2004.

"
Draw up, nice and close
Tilt your head to the left
Fill me with fear in one dose
It's so quiet - you criminal of living life theft.

Watch me with you snake eyes
Stalk me with your senses,
It's just you and me - with eyes I despise
The atmosphere is so intense.

Back me up against a tree
Have me scream for help
As you draw near, I freeze
as my life falls off the textured shelf.

Haunt me with your snake eyes
Forever in my mind they stare,
Out to get me - to shock and surprise
They strip me cold and bare.

You bite me deep and cause me pain
In agony, I try to swerve
My glassy stare of fright is your gain
Dinner is served.

Thanks G :)
Another writer once said that this sounded like "a downright nasty divorce"!
Initially it was the idea of being eaten by a snake and those final moments before death. But I intentionally added some "sexy" metaphors to give a different impression - a raw sexual encounter / Adam and Eve / rape / maybe even divorce!

Almost simultaneously I thought of two things - Adam / Eve in the Garden of Eden, but my first thought was of being kissed...So, c'mon, do tell! ;)

Great write!
