Fairytale

Fairytale

A Poem by Saturnalia
"

We never had a fairytale.

"

No flame matches the fire

That surfaces, hot from the ire.

It’s your eyes that tell the story

Of us through the wire.

‘Once upon a time’

It stated, as if a rhyme.

But there was not going to be

‘Happily ever after’ this time.

‘This is your fault.’

Your lies seal me into a vault.

‘It was never a fairytale.’

The cliché came to a halt.

I like it. it's a sweet piece. and you manage to create a rare rhyming poem that doesn't seem like doctor suiss from hell. it flows well and never feels trite and cliche or even forced.
witty and unique.

well done.
