Sometimes I Watch Myself From Afar

Sometimes I Watch Myself From Afar

A Poem by ClurHank

Sometimes I watch myself from afar
As I smile at silly scars, forgotten stars
Marred
Bruised
And ruined.
I seek devotion,
I want emotion.
May I have this tear?
This smile?
This break in what you are?
Will you grant me this attention?
Tension?
Did I mention,
That sometimes I watch myself from afar?
I feel not close, not near,
But I hear
What I hear,
And I hear
This whisper;
Me too.

Sometimes you watch yourself from afar,
Marred and mauled,
Beaten by the essence.
You shake your head in dismay.
Hey,
Look up
Look here
Find yourself
Say to yourself
Sometimes I watch myself up close,
And I see beauty.
