Anchored

Anchored

A Poem by Emma Grace Tennyson
"

I wrote this with someone specific in mind. Waiting for love to return can be a journey, much like a sea trek. Thanks for reading.

"
What do I glimpse
Past bay and coral
Past sailboat, sand and sea
Tis not a reflection
But merely a face
Dark eyes and solemn expression

Utter softly, whisper sweetly
Or breathe no breath at all
Do not give up your secrets

The wave upon your chest
Soon will match my own
I'll wash upon the shore in your arms

When morning light
Repeats again
Nightly storms mean naught

Through bitter tides
Or rugged rocks
Or angry winds, I'll be

If only oars
And arms we have
I'll trust your compass true

I am not bound
By vow or anchor
I'm steadied by my love
