The Truth of These Words

The Truth of These Words

A Poem by Cloudtreesium
"

Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will always hurt me

"

Your strongest ally and weakest friend

A weapon mightier than any other

Just as the pen is mightier than titanium swords

A parasite that will feed off of your impurities

At first you will crave

Then you will starve

After you will gorge

And it will sing with promise

Let not you be trusting of its judgement

Let not you be devoured by its powers

Reminded me of lyrics from a 'Birdy' song called Words As A Weapon:

You use your words as a weapon, dear
But your blades don't hurt when you have no fear
You think that you're deep under my skin
You're trying to keep me suffering…

Great write - stimulated the little grey cells! :-)
