A walk in the woodsA Story by Ceri Louise BaylisDown the twisting, turning broken dark path, leading through the darkest woodland, There's a trail that will challenge any sort of man, Pathways ending up where the walk had began, Warning signs say the path will end up where you first started, Reaching the same path to which they’d recently departed. If only the wanders had paid attention “people not allowed only via invitation” Creatures and magical beings inhabit the blackened forest, Most misbehaved mites mostly bad and not honest. After continuously walking the endless trek twice The trespassers decide to wait for daylight Although a new day starts no light can be seen, only able to return to where they had previously been. Hobgoblins strive from mayhem from any human they see Making trouble and mayhem more lengthily, A lost frightened person is just easy picking Fear feeds the goblins & they wont give in. The worse the situation their powers will double Strengthened by allsorts of chaos and trouble. Faye or fairies are partial, to save those in need, With helpful care and kindness they’ll intervene, Fairies will make a way out from glowing fire flies saving poor folk from their unguided demise. Directing humans out and away from the broken path they had mistakenly strayPeople return with tales of terror they have bared Confused bewildered and often still scared “It didn't matter which way I choose to go I went back to the start of the blackened wood row” Strange noises from unseen beasts birds or winds and always returning to where the forest begins. Whilst other folk hear of the ramblers plight The deep dark woods are alive for the night Hobgoblins pixies , varieties of sprite, wizards and witches prepare to take flight all other types of wonderful creatures, are busy at dusk when the moonlight features. Fairies fly off into the night Unseen unheard and out of sight To the realm of human beings without no person seeing Hobgoblins abandon the forest for night time mischief To thrive from there bother and meddlesome grief in there fiery caldrons witches create spells and curses Whilst muttering the words of magical verses. A witch can make anyone sick or better and can Steal your soul from you if you let her Wizards teach wise words to wizards in training From potions to the knack of hobgoblin taming Pixies fix anything and make it good as new They can mend anything they put there dust too.And last but not least the untrainable beasts Trolls are seen as a varied bunch Grinding bones to make their lunch Some big ,some small ,some good to all, Other trolls known for being not so nice Guarding bridges to pass has a price trolls require tolls To cross the bridges they guard To appease them can be something that’s quite hard Requiring food and snacks for their feeding So they can go back to the land of the sleeping So when tucked up in bed all nice and tight Remember the forest is alive for the night The wood that wont let trespassers ever leave Full of the creatures thought to be make believe.
