I will, I will

I will, I will

A Poem by Ricky L. Walters

I will have the will and somehow find the way
To come through the haze of these ashen days
Because goddamn it there isn't anything out there
Strong enough to kill me
And life's fearsome ragged blows
Do nothing but amuse me
I'm the man down at the shore
Screaming at the tide
Demanding the waters to forever recede
Fully expecting them to f*****g abide

And I will have the will and somehow find the way
To squeeze through every key hole of the doors that block my way
Because you haven't got in you to finally pull the trigger
You got a lot of heart kid but mine is a little bigger
And if you are lost come judgment day
You know where you can find me
Standing on a roof top drunk
The world burning all around me

I will have the will and somehow find the way
To have a gentle exit when I really shouldn't stay
Because I'm taking a different path on the crossroads set in front of me
I'm tired of all the f*****g circles and you always out in front of me
I will blaze a trail down paths
You are too afraid to walk
Leaping to my death
While you stand around and talk
