Inspectoral Defeat

Inspectoral Defeat

A Poem by JoshuaSpeaking
"

I'm a surrealist.

"

“Inspectoral Defeat”
by Joshua Giacometti

I opened up a butterfly,
saw myself in it’s magical powder.
I kissed its antennae and bottled it’s soul.

I sold the body to a friend I saw.
We shook hands; he offered me delirium.
I accepted a payment of glass cookies.

I vomited frozen air.

Ah I can't get over how much your writing has evolved. Just the images alone... You have given me new faith that there are good writers on this site. Post more man, i'm addicted =P "I vomited frozen air" what a way to close this. This is a tight, well constructed, worded, and pulled together piece. And I love how vague it is. So much is left to the read to pick away at and ponder. Surrealist you are. This is like a Dali painting that has exploded into words form.

Keep it up.

You are a hidden gem here. And this work would be best appreciated by all for its insight. You have a good skill in imparting your thoughts and philosophies with a few words.

The greatest difficulty a writer has is to try to explain thoughts through just a few words. You have been able to skillfully capture it. This is raw talent.

You have good use of form and words, and your message is insightful.

This is a good read.
