FireworksA Poem by Indoor DownpoursA short piece of symbolism reflecting my Independence Day evening.
I went away
I can't remember why Maybe I was tired I left the party while you were passed out And I wandered around Navigated by the stars And I met others my age I think they were lost in space too I didn't know them but they were kind I just wish my clothes were white Just like theirs I guess my head came loose again I don't even know where I am And I wonder what you're doing That makes me question what I'm doing My time has certainly passed by Someday my clothes will be white Just like theirs And I won't even cry about the times you spilled beer on my shirt And my scars won't talk about the nights I couldn't sleep There goes my life before my eyes I hope you're ready for the fireworks Lord knows it's been a quiet night Maybe you'll notice how bright they shine Before they diminish and go out And when you wake up in the morning Covered in shame and bottles I don't want you to worry I got home okay © 2014 Indoor DownpoursReviews
