I'm in Love With Someone I Don't Know

I'm in Love With Someone I Don't Know

A Poem by Indoor Downpours

I'm in love with someone I don't know
Dressed in Autumn, head to toe
With eyes that see into my very soul
And I hope it doesn't scare them.
They are alive in possibility
And I see them in my dreams
Beckoning me to stay asleep
There's no better state I'd rather be
Than unconscious as I hold you to me
Walking through a field of sunflowers
With our footprints to show us how far we've come
As the clouds pass by lazily with nowhere to go
You're the one that I would love to know
If only I knew you
If I could relate
Then we could share our stories
The sad ones and the great
I'm waiting for you though.
And even if you never show
I can say I've never settled
For anyone but the one
That I've longed to get to know
And I could die alone
Staring far ahead
As you come to me and take my hand
And we run away together
To start our new lives to last forever
And I can forget all the doubt
Erase it with a smile
And stare into your eyes for the first time
As if I were a child
