Death

Death

A Poem by Dead Angel
"

Can the angel of death fall in love????

"

Her beauty haunts my immortal soul

It has seeped into my skull

Her luscious brown hair and

Soft, beautiful hazel eyes.

Her milk skin seems so delicate,

It would be an abomination if my

Cold, dead hand were to

Lay upon it.

How elegant she seems in

My empty sockets; and so fragile

Oh so fragile!

Heaven fails in comparison

to this beautiful creature.

When I first saw her, she

Was weeping at the foot

Of her father's death bed.

It almost pained me to take

Him from her life.

To know that I was the

Cause of her pain

Sent a knife into my

Already dead heart.

I have seen so many

Beautiful girls in my

Eternal Afterlife

Why does she haunt me?

Why is she my grim reaper?

Oh well, I will try to figure

It all out when I come for her

In one year.

Liked this peice. Especially the last line. Made me think that death will set something up in a year or so to take his mortal love, And leave all her family and friends wondering why she ever went that way home. Can death fall in love? maybe in the same way that angels lose thier wings if they fall for a mortal. I think death will take everyone eventually but i think he has the power to prolong the taking as he wrestles with his feelings. great concept and very good write. well done

I love the concept of this piece haunting and the imagery really really stands out like a William Blake painting... overall very well done...

Nice, one thing I do suggest is to make the fonts a bit larger and separate the work so it can be easily read.

It's very delicate and dark. Really good. Well done.

Wow.....I haven't even begun and am already intrigued by your question! Good job! Now...let me read.
Ack! One year??? Very sad. I liked this piece...the only thing that I didn't think fit was the "oh well" part. For some reason, I just can't picture the mighty Grim Reaper saying "oh well"...but I did buy everything else you had him say!!! Loved this write....very clever!!!

Wow... this is really good, different, to imagine the angel of death falling in love and writing poetry too. I love it. In agreement with my co-reviewer below, I too believe angels fall in love... they become incubi or succubi. In fact, I am working on the tale of one now... Where angels fall.
Anyway, here's to this poem... well written and thanks for sharing.
