A ComparisonA Poem by MeeshOn a mundane, misty, morning, my heart’s secret came in view; A thickening thought was thorning from that life I lived with you.
I’m not rich or roamed or royal, but I tremble not at this, only simply sift through soil, for the true worth of a kiss.
It’s careless to contrast; compare to anything on Earth, and yet I did decide to dare, and find just what it’s worth.
If a man is worth the time of day, then a kiss is worth the night, but while daytime needs the sun to shine, a kiss makes its own light.
If a trinket’s worth its weight in gold, a kiss is worth the sky, for as gold’s weight will weigh it down, a kiss will float and fly. If a seasoned sailor’s worth his salt, then a kiss is worth the sea, but a sailor needs a ship and wind, and a kiss can simply be.
If a picture’s worth a thousand words, then a kiss won’t speak a word. For while man screams its sentient self, only his heart beat is heard. © 2013 MeeshAuthor's Note
