Caught Between the Moon and New York City

Caught Between the Moon and New York City

A Poem by Michael Knight
"

I was upset over a miscommunication between myself and a date

"
I long for what should be
Today no one does it the right way
For once in my life I see the stars clear as day
I keep getting fooled into planting the seed in bad soil.

What is a person to do, rectify the wrongs so I can be a hero?
Greed follows Nice everywhere, waiting like a predator
at the perfect moment to strike at its prey.
Many battles are being won by Ignorance in alliance with Stupidity.

But never underestimate the enemy, Greed is the third party
unifying against the supreme Knights. But sometimes its hard to believe
that they side against what we stand for, appreciation left on a never ending
journey, we can only hope for its return.

You pour out your heart shaped vase, reveal the face under the mask
and your shunned with a cold wind, stabbed with a
dull knife being carved into your soul.

With no consideration whatsoever, they do not know better and utter
a qualifying phrase to disqualify their sins, so they wont be burdened
with guilt: " I'm Sorry"

It's ridiculous.

I love this, especially the line 'I keep getting fooled into planting the seed in bad soil'. Good job, and very relevant!
