Iso Isle

Iso Isle

A Poem by Michael Knight

The Scorching Sun, and the Soft Sand all here
present as usual, coconuts for snacks
fish for lunch, and fish coconut Sandwich for dinner

I have been here marooned for I don't know how
long now ill say it took time to learn how to manage.
I can survive physically, I run on the Sand, I swim in the
beach. I climb trees and the small mountain that is here.

But one thing I haven't found remedy for is my loneliness.
I keep telling myself, someone must care, someone will find me.
But everyday passes on, with nothing to live for
nothing worth being passionate, no spouse, no relationship
no friend.

I start swimming and just kept going, and going to end my misery
a huge storm sweeps up and knocks me out...
...
...
I wake up on another island, but not the same one
I find footprints, I find a camp...maybe someone is here
I look around and find a note inside the tent:

"I left this island searching for help or for companionship
I knew that with the many lonely people in this world, I knew
I wasn't alone. I left in search for others so they too can see that they
are not alone. If you should find this note. Stay, I will return to give you
your help friend"
