Thunderstruck

Thunderstruck

A Poem by Michael Knight

Walking during the night, heading south of the border.
And I knew there was no turning back
My mind raced
And I thought what could I do?

My knees were shakin, raining hard
flashes everywhere, the sounds of drums
My beatin,' in my heart wants you
but I sure as hell don't
And I knew...
There was no help, no help from you

I felt like one in a million with you,
Now I can truly say you made my life
like a cloudy day: gloomy, dark, you ruined
me with your rain, you caused accidents
with your wet roads, You kept me away with
your high gusts. And you surprised me with a
little lightning and hit me hard with some thunder.
